Erica Nam, 17 years old, is a student of Kurt Sassmannshaus in the Starling Program in Cincinnati and Amy J. Lee, the Associate Concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra. She has played in masterclasses with Friedemann Eichhorn, Sibbi Bernhardsson, Janet Sung, Vadim Gluzman, Clara-Jumi Kang, Paul Kantor, and Jinjoo Cho.

Erica made her debut with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra with Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy under Maestro J.R. Cassidy. She was also a featured soloist performing Wieniawski Concerto No. 2 with the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Michael Chertock. She frequently performs solos with the Starling Chamber Orchestra, most notably as soloist at age 9 on their 2016 tour of China.

Erica is the winner of 2024 Matinée Musicale/Nancy Walker Scholarship Competition and 2019 Jack and Lucille Wonnell Young Artist Competitions. Winning top prizes in the 2023 Louisville Young Artist Competition, 2023 and 2024 Overture Awards, 2022 New Albany Symphony Concerto Competition and 2014 Sejong Music Competition, she also won the Best Interpretation of Korean Piece prize in the latter. Nam has participated in the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Great Wall International Music Academy, Innsbrook Institute, Sounding Point Academy, Encore Chamber Music Institute Academy, Philadelphia International Music Festival, and the Cincinnati Young Artists Chamber Music Festival. She will be attending the Morningside Music Bridge and returning to the Encore this summer both with full scholarships.

Nam is a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Philharmonic, Walnut Hills High School Chamber Orchestra, and the Starling Chamber Orchestra having served as a concertmaster and principal second violinist.

In addition, Erica loves listening to R&B and Jazz music, loves fashion and self care, being active, and skiing for fun.
