Apply for Master Classes

2025 MASTER CLASS APPLICATIONS TBA

In order to be considered for the Master Classes offered at the Stulberg International String Competition, applicants are asked to follow the guidelines in the application process.

  • Master Class applicants must perform with piano accompaniment, unless it is a solo work without accompaniment such as solo Bach for strings or solo piano repertoire. Those selected to perform in the Master Classes must perform the same work as performed in the audition.
  • Works composed with accompaniment should include accompaniment in the application video.
  • Pieces do not need to be memorized.
  • For string students, it is recommended that applicants are at a minimum in Suzuki Book 4 (or comparable) or beyond.
  • For piano students, it is recommended that applicants are at a minimum level SAT 6 or comparable or, considered early advanced.
  • Violin, viola, cello, and piano soloists under the age of 20 (as of 01/01/2025) are eligible to apply (2025 Competition semifinalists are not eligible).

Application Deadline: April 4, 2025. Application video and information must be submitted online between March 1 – April 4. During this time, we will provide the link to the application. Master Class application fee will be paid when online application video is submitted.

Master Class Date: Friday, May 16, 2025, timeslots TBA, at the Dalton Center in Kalamazoo, MI. Students and judges will be onsite.
