Rem Cabrera is The Gilmore’s Grants & Inclusion Manager. He has a B.A. in English from Miami’s Barry University and an M.A. in Writing from Florida International University. He was Senior Cultural Administrator for 17 years at the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, one of the largest such agencies in the US, during which time he administered major grant programs and created programs to benefit individual artists. Rem has served as a grant panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts, state governments, regional state associations, and municipalities. For his work creating the Theater League of South Florida, he was honored with the first Remy, a series of annual awards named in his honor that are given for outstanding contributions to regional theater. In another century, he studied voice and sang with choruses.
